I hope when I'm 70 years old I'm still trying to convert people to reusable bottles. Paying for plastic bottles of water in a country with potable water available from every tap is so silly. If you don't like the taste of your local water, try a filter! I promise your bottled water is no "cleaner" than what comes out of your tap. Better yet, I hope when I'm 70, utilizing reusable bottles is a no-brainer! ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠

I got to work on something new this last week that was pretty neat. A company sent me bike bags to try out and photograph for their catalogue. I was really nervous to try something so foreign but relished the challenge. Plus it got me back out on my bike and showcasing my little corner of the country. ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠
I need your help! As much as Dobby and I are loving vanlife, summer in south Georgia is no joke. This van enabled us to take a 9000-mile road trip this summer but now we're bound to one location at least until November. I had a dream last night that I built an off-grid studio on my mom's land, and the idea intrigues me. #airconditioning What are your thoughts? Keep rocking the van life or go all Bear Grylls in mom's backyard? ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠
I often write captions weeks in advance. Pairing them with a photo comes later. Sometimes it feels like what I have to say needs time to marinate, to mature. Like the thoughts I've had are seeds and they need some time to germinate before I plant them. Sometimes words are beautiful flowers, sometimes they're poison ivy, and I think it's important for me to see what grows from the seeds of my mind before I unleash my growing thoughts out into the world. Poppies are pretty, but they're also poisonous. ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠
I think my view of and confidence in my body changes more often than my actual physical appearance. There will be a week where I feel like a fucking goddess and a gift to this Earth: skin clear(ish), belly nice and tucked, looking like a whole snack. Then there will be a week where I feel like a hunched swamp troll crawling out from under a bridge to steal your snacks. And the crazy thing is my body probably didn't change that much from one week to the next. Literally all that changed was how I perceived myself. And that's crazy. We have such powerful mental abilities. To convince ourselves, to persuade our psyche. I hope to try to put those superpowers to work for the side of good more often. Yes, I will probably always have days where I'm a little more self-conscious, but I'll look myself in the mirror and, even if I don't really believe it just then, I'll look into my own eyes and remind myself out loud that I am a gift to this Earth, just like everyone else. Often we have the ability to change our perception, and be so much happier for it. ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠

I'm having some trouble letting go. It's hard to leave heat, ac, a reliable shower and toilet nearby. It's hard to let go of convenience. I'm afraid to break down. I'm afraid something else will break. I'm afraid of repair costs. Living in a van is about making sacrifices to live more intentionally, and like any significant change I'm afraid to fully commit. Being brave, fellow Gryffindors, isn't about how you act when you're confident, but how you act when you're terrified. It's time to get uncomfortable. ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠ ↠
