It took me 5 days to bike through Illinois. I showered exactly one time. It was so hot my tires started sticking to the melting asphalt.
They don't call these "The Flyover States" and "The Corn Belt" for nothing.
Due to lack of significant human habitation I stayed:
In a town park in Odell.
In Waterworks Park in Henry, where a policeman gave me his card.
In front of the Kewanee Fire Department thanks to Captain Steven.
In the yard of Lindy and John in the unincorporated community of Buffalo Prairie.
We have traveled 1,734 miles.
